Most foreign passport holders are required to obtain a Chinese visa to enter China. Citizens of Singapore, Brunei, and Japan are currently exempt from this requirement (please note that visa policies may change – you are strongly advised to check with the Chinese embassy or consulate in your country of residence before traveling).
If you are uncertain whether you need a visa, please contact the Chinese embassy or consulate in your region. It is your responsibility to ensure you have the most up‑to‑date visa information prior to departure.
We strongly recommend that you apply for your visa as early as possible-at least one month in advance. Visa processing typically takes around four weeks, but processing times may vary from individual to individual.
For most attendees, applying for a Tourist ("L") visa is the most straightforward option, as it does not require an invitation letter. Please consult your local Chinese embassy or consulate for detailed application procedures and forms.
💡 Important: The name you provide during conference registration must exactly match the name as it appears on your passport. Any discrepancy – including spelling variations or order of given names-may result in delays or rejection of your visa application.
An official Invitation Letter will be issued by the conference organizing committee upon successful completion of registration and payment. This letter serves as proof of your conference participation and may support your visa application. However, it does not guarantee that a visa will be granted.
The Invitation Letter will be sent to you by email in English. Please note that it can only be issued after your registration has been fully confirmed.
- The organizing committee has no control over the visa application process or the decision made by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) or the embassy/consulate.
- Should your visa application be denied, neither the conference nor its organizing committee can change the decision of the MOFA. We will not engage in any discussion or correspondence with the MOFA or the embassy on behalf of the applicant.
- Providing the Invitation Letter is the only form of assistance the organizing committee can offer. The committee is not authorized to handle, expedite, or intervene in any visa application.
If your visa application is denied, the conference and its organizing committee cannot reverse that decision. You are advised to contact the embassy directly to inquire about the reason for denial and any possible next steps. Unless otherwise covered by the conference's cancellation policy, no refund or special arrangements will be made based solely on a visa denial.
